Beautiful waterfront Gilchrist Park will be the site of the annual Punta Gorda Hibiscus Festival. Join in the fun at the FRIDAY NIGHT MUSIC FEST 6-10, sweet & savory foods, King Harry’s Gazebo Bar, with Four Magnificent Bands on the main stage to entertain you. Saturday 9a starts the Huge Exotic Plant Sale, at 10 am Vice Mayor Gary Wein will conduct the Opening Ceremony announcing the 2015 King Dale Baker & Queen Gussie Baker of Hibiscus...Followed by the Lil’ Miss Hibiscus Pageant, huge Plant Sale continues throughout the park, the Charlotte Harbor Community Sailing Center is again sponsoring the Hibiscus Cup Regatta on the Harbor, Green Hibiscus trolley offering Historical Tours (tickets available at Gilchrist gates), Vintage Motor Car Club of America will have their vintage car display, Plien Air Artists in and around the Park offering their works for sale, a large variety of craft vendors, there’s a children’s area where they can make a Mother’s Day card or paint a cup or glass, maybe even paint a coconut! Enjoy a variety of our own local amazing musicians who will perform on the stage ALL DAY! until 4p. Sunday 10-2 The Huge Exotic Plant Sale will continue surrounded by inspirational music on stage, food, and crafts. Proceeds to mainly benefit Charlotte County Historical Center our local museum, and also giving support to Chakulla’s Hunger Bus, singing out for food for all people.
